After shuffling around in pain from a pinched nerve on Saturday and Sunday, I finally made it to the chiropractor on Monday. I was feeling much better that day, but not good enough to run. So, today, I thought I would give it a try - a short, easy run. Well, 2 miles was too long. At 1-1/2 miles, my tailbone/pelvis started hurting and I ended up limping home the last 1/4 of a mile. And now I'm back to pinching that nerve. It's not that sciatic nerve; the chiropractor said it's the nerve right above that one. Either way, it's a real "pain"!!! It's not sore like a sore muscle; but if I move wrong, I get a terrible shooting pain that almost makes me fall. Needless to say, this is going to be a dismal week for running. I'm going to see the chiropractor again on Friday, and I've called my doctor to get a prescription for some Physical Therapy.

Yikes! I was a a little worried about that when I saw that you didn't run yesterday. Does it hurt you when you walk? Or bike? Might be a good time to try some cross training. Whenever you get a lot of comments that you are soooo amazing, and progressing so fast, BEWARE! It means you are at risk for injury, or so I've found. Hope you feel better soon!

Actually, our internet was down, so this was yesterday's run. This morning (Wed), my back is doing terrible. I was able to get up and nurse Audrey in the middle of the night with absolutely no pain, but then I must've slept funny because it was excruciating with every movement at 6:30. I'm surviving on ibuprofen right now.

I agree with Lybi that doing something else for a while is a good idea. You don't want to injure yourself. I promise, there is still dignity in walking ;) especially when you are hurt. So if walking doesn't hurt as much you should try getting out for a good walk. It is better than nothing and it might even feel good :) If you can't walk without pain then I definitely wouldn't try running :)

I hope you are able to find a long term solution for the problem. Going to the chiropractor twice a week and hurting in between sounds like a bad idea and a bad life. Love you lots.

Hahaha. Okay, Mom, you're like the WORST person to give advice about dealing with pain -- Mrs. I'm-doing-okay-I-really-don't-need-a-doctor. :o) Love ya!

I have 2 herniated discs down low in my back. When I do something to tweek them wrong they get inflamed and I am down for the count! It took several times before I finally went to a doctor and they sent me for an MRI. That is how I found out about the discs. Prescription anti inflametories and muscle relaxers have helped me. Sorry, but in my opinion, with what I have, (which may sound similar to yours), a chiro is the last place I would want to go. I hope you get it figured out soon! Definitely not a good way to live!
