So, Santa finally made good on his promise and I got cold weather running gear today!!!! I was so excited to try it out this afternoon while the babies were sleeping and before the snow began to fall - so I rescheduled a doctor's appointment just to be able to run! (hee, hee)

It was very nice to have light-weight clothing and still feel warm enough. It was about 35 degrees and I wore my new pants, long sleeve shirt, and 1/4 zip pullover (with gloves and a headband, which I already had) At times, I was a little cold (downhill and into the wnd); but I still ended up carrying my gloves and was warm ... almost everywhere. My caboose was still cold. ha! But overall, I was still very happy with my new clothes!!

Laura, I find that since getting my new warmer light weight running clothes that I LOVE!!! I still have problems with temp. control I usually start out with 2 top jacket layer and then end up putting one around the waist mid way through. My caboose sometimes gets cold too, but the cold isn't as cold and it's so nice that things are light that I'm just thrilled!

Nice mileage today!

I actually debated wearing my jacket, but I didn't want to overdo it; and I really wanted to test out my first two layers and see if they would really keep me warm.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a cold behind! ;o) Did you get yours for Christmas too? (Christmas is a general term, as I consider mine still Christmas - 3 weeks later.)

It is nice to have warm running clothes that are still light, what brand did you end up getting from Santa?

From laura on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 21:52:12

Andee and Rachelle, thanks for your comments!!! I, of course, think my girls are the cutest things alive! ;o) And the brands for my new clothes are Brooks pants, Mizuno shirt, and Pearl jacket. It was nice to go to the store and try a bunch of things on and try layering them too. I kept looking at Wal-Mart, Sams, Target, and Marshalls and couldn't find anything really suitable for running in the cold - so I ended up going to an actual running store. Hopefully they'll last for years cuz Santa is generous, but not THAT generous every year. ;o)

The really fancy stuff is lined with mulched money, I've decided.

Great job Laura! What dedication to reschedule the appointment so you could run.
